OK. There is no such thing as a Folker. But there is a legendary fighter plane called the Fokker. The Fokker was founded by Anton (Anthony) Fokker, and made its biggest mark during WW1, where it was well known for its agility in combat. Even today, the Fokker corporation still exists, and builds jets and passenger liners. The Fokker is also the subject of the classic joke, which concludes "Yes, but these fokkers were flying Messerschmitts." For the purpose of this game, the name Folker was used to avoid any copyright conflicts.

You can play Bad Folkers! with Keyboard or Joystick (choose "Controls" from the main screen). These are the controls: MOVE The cursor keys on the keyboard, or the main joystick (or joypad) SHOOT The left CTRL key on the keyboard, or joystick button 1 SUPERWEAPON The left ALT key on the keyboard, or joystick button 2 EJECT CARGO The left SHIFT key on the keyboard, or joystick button 3 PAUSE The P key on the keyboard. Press P again to unpause. END GAME The ESC key on the keyboard. This will kill you and remove all lives. Hit ESC again after your plane crashes to avoid the post-game delay.

Folkers sometimes carry weapons crates that hold valuable things for you! Here are the weapons crates and what they contain:

	A red crate is your weapons crate. As you are dying, you can eject all your guns and superweapons, to be reclaimed with your next life. This will only work if you have something other than regular bullets.
	SPEED: You can get this crate twice to speed you up (or more if you've been slowed down by certain weapons fire).
	ENERGY: Brings your energy back to 100%.
	EXTRA LIFE: Gives you an extra life.
	DOUBLE BULLETS: Doubles your bullets, and spreads them to cover more area. Getting this weapons twice will give you Quadruple bullets.
	MISSILES: Gives you missiles, which are much stronger than your regular bullets. Getting this weapon twice will let you fire 2 missiles at a time.
	LASERS: Gives you lasers, which are stronger than missiles and regular bullets. Getting this weapon twice will increase the firing speed of your lasers.
	FIREWALL: Send a wall of roaring fire across the screen. This proves lethal to most planes and inflicts severe damage on big bosses.
	ICE: An iceball freezes time, giving you a few vital seconds to shoot or ram all the planes while they are defenseless. NOTE: While big bosses will freeze, ramming into them will still kill you!
	SPITFIRE: My personal favorite! When you let this one loose, your plane zips off the screen, only to make an invincible pass from top to bottom, spitting white hell along the way.
	RAIN: Unleash a thunderstorm upon everone on the screen!
	AXES: Contains the power of a firewall, but concentrated right in front of your plane. Fling these politically-incorrect axes into a big boss's face to inflict massive damage!

Do you really think I'm going to tell you folkers how to cheat? No way! Though I will admit, the cheat code is a short phrase you can type any time during gameplay (perhaps before you shoot the BEGIN plane) (no spaces). And considering the nature of the game, you'll probably figure it out on your first try! A friendly voice will let you know if you got it right. If you get that far, use the following keys to get stuff:

1 - 0	The keys "1" thru "0" correspond to a weapons box.
B	Takes you directly to the level's big boss. Might not work right if you're already at the big boss.
\	The backward slash will slow down the game. No real use; was a testing mechanism. Press "|" (shift + the backward slash) to return the game to its regular speed.
|	The pipe (shift + the backward slash) will return the game to its regular speed if you've slowed it down with the "\" key.
